Equine Therapy
Seamlessly integrates interactions with horses and artistic expression to enhance emotional well-being and foster personal growth. This approach provides a distinctive and enriching therapeutic experience.
Felipe Salas – Director of the Equine Therapy Program for Art for Life International.
Equine therapy is a therapeutic experience that goes beyond mere physical contact between humans and horses, establishing a deep connection between them. It leverages the innate qualities of horses, such as their nobility, physical strength, and robust anatomy, to provide therapeutic benefits. These majestic animals offer a movement experience that simulates human walking, especially benefiting those with physical disabilities or mobility issues by improving their strength, coordination, and body awareness.
In addition to the physical benefits, horses are extremely sensitive and can perceive human emotions, making them valuable in the treatment of emotional and psychological disorders. For children and young people with anxiety, depression, or autism spectrum disorders, interacting with horses can provide a sense of calm and security, reducing stress and anxiety.
Equine therapy can also be integrated from an artistic perspective by using the emotional connection with horses to inspire creativity and personal expression. Participants can channel their emotional and physical experiences into art forms such as painting, sculpture, photography, or writing, reflecting their connection with the horse and the therapeutic process. This practice allows for exploring and expressing emotions in a visual and tangible way, enhancing self-awareness and healing through art.
Portrait Institute
The “Portrait Institute” is committed to instructing and advancing specialized artistic skills in portraiture. We provide programs and resources aimed at refining the technique of portrait creation.
Our painting classes, under the banner of “Portrait Institute,” are named so due to their reliance on a classic, time-tested teaching method: the single-sitting portrait study from a life model. In these small classes, which span ten days of studies, participants meet once a day to paint from a different life model each day. Artists appreciate the challenge and rewards of portrait painting in this immersive setting.
